Life on the Road: A Long Haul Driver’s Legacy

Before joining PortaPros, Craig spent over six years as a long-haul truck driver, covering a staggering 20,000 miles a month. With his loyal cocker spaniel or wife often riding shotgun, Craig experienced the peaceful solitude of the open road, visiting nearly every rest area in the lower 48 states. Yet, despite the adventure, Craig’s heart remained in Weiser, Idaho, where he cherished his limited time with his family. The open road taught him patience, adaptability, and the value of organization—all traits he brings to his work at PortaPros.

A Family Man Who Loves the Great Outdoors

Craig and his wife share a full and lively household with their seven children. When he’s not working, Craig is an outdoorsman at heart, finding joy in the remote wilderness of Idaho, Montana, Utah, or the Oregon coast. Camping and fishing in secluded spots, where cell service is nonexistent, is Craig’s idea of paradise. Whether riding remote trails or setting up camp on a hidden trail, Craig treasures the peace that comes from disconnecting and connecting with nature.

A Legacy of Hard Work and Dedication

Craig’s work ethic and values are deeply rooted in his admiration for his father, a dedicated heavy equipment operator with a “travel bug” similar to Craig’s own. His father’s punctuality and dedication set an inspiring example, one that Craig has carried into every role he’s taken on. Growing up on a ranch with his mother and sister, Craig developed a hands-on approach to life—tending to cows, horses, and sheep, fixing equipment, and tackling welding projects. This experience taught him the importance of stepping up and handling whatever challenges come his way, skills that now serve him well at PortaPros.

Looking Forward: Aspiring to Leadership

Craig’s vision for his future at PortaPros includes stepping into a role as a shop manager, where he can lean into his organizational skills and support the team. He’s passionate about ensuring everyone has what they need, from supplies to tools, and dreams of managing orders and maintaining a well-stocked inventory. With his background and drive, Craig is excited to take on more responsibilities, ensuring PortaPros’ operations run smoothly and efficiently.
